Apparently you can't play the demo as the Early access has been released (which is Valve being stupid not the devs) and as the trailer had me intrigued I bought the game but I do regret it.The setting's nice and the voice talents have been 3\/4 good (that attempt at scottish sounds worse than me trying to do scottish accent and "wee" as in "a wee lad" is not spelled "we", even a swede such as myself knows that) but then the bad appears unfortunately. You have a shotgun and if you have it equipped your player character all of a sudden decides to turn to the left even though the enemies are in front of you, looting is handled with pressing down on your right thumbstick but using it (as anyone knows that've used thumbsticks in a menu) in the menu for looting isn't precise so you may "jjump up" so using D-pad is a better choice but you can't use D-pad down to open the loot screen...Changing resolution means clicking it 'til you reach your chosen one, if you click once more you'll have to click through all the option to get back to your preferred res... (you can only go "right" so if you move too far "right" you have to continue to go right' til you get back to where you were)It seems a bit too hard right off the bat too, especially with the sudden "I'll shot at nothing behind me" quirk screwing you over as well...Not for me and I can't recommend in it its current state either, love the graphics and the trailer but that's unfortunately all.... So far I played about an hour and its really damn good for an early access 10 dollar game.Voice actings good, graphics are good, combat is okay aside from me having to spam the the ole double barrel and so far I'm having a good time.. Poor combat. I know it's still in early access just couldn't even really get into it.I died on the very first mobs. I understand I had to figure out the controls, fighting and such but I got chain locked and died. Their dmg was very high while all I felt I could do was spam attack. Later on it only got worse with multiple enemies. I didn't feel like there was a good combo I could do or if it was a attack and then run away type of game. Weapons didn't do too much damage either. While it's a survival setting game I felt I had to eat any food\/health items I came across just due to the high dmg of the enemies and poor combat leaving me half-dead the entire game. I didn't feel like I just needed to get better at the game, just that the game itself made it impossible too. The pipe weapon was so slow attack speed I couldn't even use it against someone in actual combat, only when they were running up on me. Pistols were practically useless and the buck shot, while cool, still left little impact. Without ammo I felt helpless. The map feature as well took me a little bit to figure out where and how I get anywhere without ever playing the game before. I barely played the game just due to the fact I lost interest in it. Gameplay is a key part of any game after all. I fell to my death a couple of times due to the poor jumping in game. While I don't plan to ask for a refund, as I do want to support such games, I just couldn't get into it. I'll try back in a year or so.. Having now finished what is so far implemented into BUCK, i must say it is everything i hoped it would be. Of course there are many things to improve, for example, the guns felt very underwhelming as i could just punch and dodge my way through most enemies. Furthermore with the guns, when you modify them ( specifficaly the shotguns 3rd barrel mod) it does not change the ingame model, or the model in the item frame, again very unsatisfying. But the voice acting is very good, if not for the fact the quality of the mics some are using are worse than others. And the story right now leaves just quite a good bit to be discovered. I can not wait for more content updates for this game. Thank you for making it, devs!
